LIFE LOVE AND DEATH

March 26th, 2014 - Today, we’ll talk about love. Ooh, I can already hear you that Terrificator starts falling into sentimentality. Nay, dear little monsters! especially if love is associated with death.

There is love from the parents that give you life and then there is the state when you fall in love that makes choosing to live for ever with someone for love. "Love is beautifull" you say because it gives life and then it makes life more pretty! Well, not in all cases, because it happens sometimes that those who love you so much once, are also those who will decide if you are going to live, to survive, too!

It is the case of a French man who is in a coma for 5 years now. Victim of a road accident in 2008, Vincent Lambert, 38, is in the state of coma and he is being cured into a french hospital. He moves his eyes, seems to feel the pain but doctors in charge of him, say it is impossible to know if Vincent Lambert understands what surrounds him. After five years, doctors assert that no code of communication has been established with him. So, they decide to stop all treatment and ask for the consent of her wife for his "end of life". She answered posivitely.

But Vincent Lambert’s parents, believers, do not want their son to be "killed" medically and asked the Justice to "break" the decision of death made by the hospital.

And here now two versions of love which clash :

– that one of the parents who give life to their son and want to protect him keeping him alive,

– and that one of the wife (with another part of the family), who wants to "kill" her husband for love for stopping the suffering and hasten the deliverance.

The courts did not want to make a judgment because of the fear of jurisprudescence and the judgment ultimately is due to the French State Council after a a battalion of medical experts will have rendered their analysis.

However, we know already that experts do not possess the unversal sapience that is to day, they do not know everything and especially that:

– Wanting the "end of life" of Vincent Lambert, the hospital wants abovall to minimize the costs and make budgetary savings.

– Doctors are used to refute what they do not understand and specially some cases of recoveries after coma, as the recovery of Terry Wallis, American (they voluntary minimize) who on June 11, 2003, regained awareness after spending 19 years in a minimally conscious state. There are also over cases around the world.

– If Vincent Lambert, was enough rich and famous as for example, the former racing driver, Michael Schumacher, who is likewise in coma or as Ariel Sharon, Prime Minister of Israel (who survived in coma still from 2006 to Jan 2014), then no problem : the hospital and the entire medical profession would never even dare to mention an "end of life".

At last, there is also the question of the legatees, that is to say, the heirs (in the case of Vincent Lambert : his wife), which under the guise of the authorization of "end of life" of her husband, can legally inherit of the deceased even if she has decided of his death.

So, my little monsters, be aware for the persons who are in "love" with you, because, one day, they can decide of your entire life or... death!
