THE NEW ANTHROPROCENE ERA

Their announcement is appeared discreetly on January 25, 2008 in the newspaper of the geological company of America (GSA Today). They said with prudence and rigour with this detachment that love scientists when they announce bad news: "men have so much transformed the planet that we have changed era: we are now entering a new geological one".

The previous one, the Holocene that has lasted for approximately ten thousand years has been replaced by a new one, the Anthropocene era. (from anthrôpose in greek which means "man" and kairos, "new". In this very serious article, scientists report methodically the impacts of the climatic change, erosion of the grounds, disappearance of the species and modification of the acidity of the oceans which result from human activities and which are changing radically the geological structure of our planet.

Reading this news, comes at our mind, an extract of the GENESIS as an anciant prediction for this modern and monstruous era:

GENESIS (extract):
"From the Obscure marsh came strange noises: the most various animals ran irresistibly to its water?
All thing started when an enormous snake burst itself onto the surface of the water, its corpse delivering to the air its rotten entrails.
... above this putrid skin an eagle planed, then pricked, and suddenly fell down into the water which became its tomb, which drowned it and grabbed it at once.
... A rat passed, a crafty and malicious one which disappeared also promptly into a boiling of anguish.
... The most beautiful butterfly of the marsh fell in the same way on the puddle pool full of floating flesh and was covered promptly with waste.
... Then one by one, tens, hundreds, all the animals of the marsh came to thrown themselves into this monstrous water.
... Until total silence.
And from this big holocaust, where nothing could survive, born from a triumphant boiling, suddenly appeared the MAN, alone and arrogant.
... And at his sight, all the plants faded.
And God cried and shouted: "What I have made!..."
