WE LIVE IN ASSIAH

Every reader of the Bible can note that God is mentioned under various names (Elohim, Adonai, Yahweh, etc.). They are not literary tricks but the terms for the different attributes and functions of a single God. Depending on the used Name, we can know the aspect of the referred divine force.

According the Kabbalah, the Tree of Life is a diagram showing the Universal Man, the macrocosm, as well as the human being, considered as a microcosm. The Tree of Life is composed of ten spheres named Sephiroth. These spheres are connected by 22 lines called "paths" that represents the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The 10 sephiroth and 22 paths are grouped under the 32 paths of wisdom. The sephiroth are different levels of manifestation of the uncreated Light.

When the Light-Without-Limit condensed into one point, the 10 sephirot developed themselves representing ten different attributes of the divine in the following order:

1 Kether: the Crown
2 Chokmah: the Wisdom
3 Binah: the Understanding
4 Chesed: the Grace
5 Geburath : the Force
6 Tiphareth: the Beauty
7 Netzach: the Victory
8 Hode: the Glory
9 Yesod: the Foundation
10 Malkuth: the Kingdom

At the beginning of our present world, the first 10 sephiroth emanating from the uncreated light were so powerful that men could not perceive them. Veiling always their brightness, these initial sephiroth emanated their reflection. The process was repeated four times so that the Light became sufficiently attenuated and diffuse to be seen clearly by men. From there, come the 5 Qabalists worlds (the Universal Man and the 4 reflections), the 10 sephiroth being present in each world. In the same way there are 4 worlds or successive emanations, there are 4 color scales assigned to the sephiroth and the paths...

Atziluth (that is to say imminence/closeness in Hebrew) is the first world arising out of the Negative Existence. Atziluth is God in all its aspects but without contact with the creatures. God acts directly and not through its ministers. In this world, it is the intend of creation which is elaborated. It is the world of archetypes and ideas.

Briah, the second world, is the archangelic World of creation. It derives from Beriath, meaning produce or create. Here the idea is animated of a willingness to come forward, to become something.

Yetzirah, the third world, is the angelic world of Formation. It is derived from the Chaldean "ITzR", meaning form or do. This world is the sphere of existence in which men sometimes venture during states of ecstasy or induced dreams .

Assiah, the fourth world, is the Elementary World of Action. In this world, the qualities and essences of the 3 other worlds are weakened and distorted. It’s the world where we live. It is not only influenced by the forces of light but also by the forces of darkness. It is the neutral ground where these two opposing forces fight a battle generating the dual association of this world. Our world is subject to transformation, change, corruption and destruction reducing it to a raw material ready to be reused for dressing new forms elaborated in the previous world.
