JUSTIFICATION OF HORROR?

April 19th, 2015 - Within days, the Mediterranean has become the tomb of thousands of African migrants. Migrants fleeing war and atrocities to an hypothetical promised land. On the floating nuts, Muslims migrants threw at sea Christian ones. Absurd war of religion for someones... 3rd World War for others... It is not the purpose here to attempt to justify war horror because nothing justifies horror but to watch it from another angle.

For this, a little return in the past...

Following the Battle of the Boyne and despite the Treaty of Limerick in 1695, the English published the famous Irish Penal Laws that deny any Irish civil right, ruin commerce, forbidden the catholic church, school and gaelic language. Many Irish people emigrated and took up arms to fight in the service of any country that made war against England. The English colonizers exporting Irish wheat and cattle, the Irish people survived by cultivating potatoes. But when they lack, it was the famine in 1739 and 1740. And when there was the disease of the potatoes, again it was the famine in 1845-1847 with 700,000 deaths and 800,000 migrants who tried to escape on rotten boats (the famous floating coffins) to go to America. "If we could put crosses on the Ocean, the Atlantic would be a huge cemetery."

Facing up to the late 19th century, catholic priests and religion were forbidden and when the English captured one priest, they killed him and dismembered his corpse hanging him in retaliation and menace (as evidenced by the headstones scattered in the Irish countryside). Because the English were Protestants, the Irish resisted waving the Catholic religion as a weapon against the colonizers. Catholic religion became the weapon of resistance of an oppressed people who wanted to resist to the English invaders.

Today, the Muslim fundamentalists by attacking the Christians, attack in fact the white men who in their opinion are the colonizers of the past and the present, the messengers of a colonizing civilization they deny. For them, all what is christian is the symbol of the former dominance of the old Western domination. The ancient colonizers after colonizing almost the whole world in the 19th century till the mid-20th century, shared the world after the 2nd World War, imposing borders of a new world and civilization which from now on is extending over the world : the culture and way of life of the western civilization.

And so, religion is again an excuse to resist the invaders... with war and atrocities as lies and weapons.

sacred wars, made in the name of God, or
civilization or progress. But all of them,
