BONES FACTORY

Everyone knows the famous movie "the monster of Frankestein" where Doctor Frankestein buys corpses for creating the "Monster of Frankestein" with human spare parts.

During the 17th century, surgeons and doctors cannot touch human corpses, because it was considered as if they profaned the receptacle of human soul. And the doctors and surgeons at this time who were impassioned by human body had sometimes to take risks and stole or bought corpses at the mortuaries for making experiments in medecine and science.

If you thought that nowadays this sort of traffic has disappeared, you are mistaken because two macabre traffics have been recently discovered and broken up by the polices of two countries. The first illegal trade was discovered in the States and the other in India. They involved two horrible traffics of corpses.

Indeed, two gangs, have created true bones factories and performed macabre and profitable traffics with corpses for the first one, with skeletons for the other:

1 - And so, in the States, in May 2007, a funeral director has been arrested who was used to resell illegally human organs taken on the corpses that he has in charge for burial. Parts of bones and other human organs were removed from the corpses and resell to middlemen in connection with worldwide hospitals. The lacking bones were replaced by plumbing spare parts.

2 - In India also, in April 2007, police arrested 6 people who created a real "factory of bones". Investigators found an organized factory with dozens of skeletons treated with chemicals, then laid out to dry in the sun as simple fruits. Indian corpses were stolen from cremation sites and rivers where the deads are often disposed by the poors who have not enought money to cremate them. After a chemical treatment in this very special "factory", the skeletons were used to be sold to middlemen, who in turn sold them to students of medical colleges in Kolkata and outside. The final deals were struck in Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Delhi.
