I, SERIAL KILLER AND CANNIBAL

June 7, 2012 - The filmmaker G. Romero with his horror movies of zombies proves prophetic: and so, in early June 2012, the American press spoke of zombies Apocalypse due to a series of particularly macabre news featuring cannibals .

Indeed since several months, there has been an upsurge of cannibals around the world. And so many are the cases in May and June that the american newspapers told about a “zombies apocalypse”. Since one year, there has been an increase of attacks and murders by cannibals. Here are below some notorious cases:

... Nikolai Shadrin, (May 2011):
He was arrested in May 2011 after police found a stew made from a human liver in his fridge. The raid on his apartment came after various dismembered body parts were found around Moscow.

…The Mouyrmansk’s Cannibal (Aug.2011) :
Police in Murmansk in northwest Russia has arrested a man suspected of killing and eating another human being he met on a gay website. The 21-year old suspect invited him, stabbed him and cut into pieces to eat. For one week, he cooked his remains, making steaks, nuggets and sausages.

…Jorge da Silveira (April 2011):
Canibal family in Brazil: Jorge da Silveira, 51, Isabel Pires, 51, and Bruna da Silva, 25 years have killed three women and ate their flesh. The victims have been slaughtered and butchered like lambs. Da Silveira asserts that as a ritual he does not use their blood and poured their flesh into water for purification before cooking and eating them.

… Rudy Eugene ( May 29th 2012):
Eugene was found naked chewed up the face of a homeless man on the MacArthur Causeway in Miami. He was shot and killed by a police officer on May 26, 2012 after he refused to stop chewing on the face of his victim.

… Zhang Yongming (May 30th, 2012) :
A Chinese man called the “cannibal monster” was arrested two weeks ago for the murder and mutilation of at least 20 people in Yunnan province. Several reports indicate 56-year-old Zhang Yongming ate his victims, sold the victims’ flesh to others and also fed them to his dog. Many of the victims were young boys. Hong Kong’s The Standard reports that authorities found wine bottles with eye balls inside of them and pieces of flesh hanging in his home.

… The swedish lips cutter (May 2012):
A prominent researcher at Sweden’s Karolinska Institute is in custody for having cut off his wife’s lips with a knife and then eating them in their home south of Stockholm. Prosecutors considered the attack to be so vicious that they requested the man be remanded in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

… Luka Magnotta (May-June 2012) :
Magnotta, branded the ’Canadian Psycho’ murdered and dismembered his former gay lover Jun Lin, 33 in his flat in Montreal on the night of May 24. The university student’s torso was found in the apartment while parts of his body were posted to political offices in Ottawa, including the prime minister’s party headquarters. A ten minute videotape purporting to record the horrific crime was posted online, showing a man stabbing his naked and bound victim with an ice pick. The attacker then hacks him to pieces and eats part of his flesh. He is also seen performing sexual acts on the corpse. The murderer tears the victim apart like a doll.

… Alexander Kinyua (June 2012) :
This Maryland 21-year-old student told police he killed a man and ate his heart and brain. Kinyua’s father called police after his other son found a head and two hands inside metal tins in the family laundry room. Kinyua told police he cut the victim up with a knife and ate parts of him; the rest of the man was found in a Dumpster. Kinyua was accused of attacking another student with a baseball bat earlier this month.

… Carl Jacquneaux (June 2012) :
He attacked and bited his ex-wife’s husband’s face, removing chunk of skin.

… even in France, the country of "good food" :
Cannibalism is rampant in the world and if newspapers do not talk about it in some countries is that the code of silence prevails on these barbaric acts for avoiding bad publicity. France, the country of the "good food", is not spared even if the last event of cannibalism reported in the media goes back to January 2, 2007: Nicolas Cocaign, prisoner in the French Jail of Rouen killed another inmate in the cell and ate a piece of her lungs for "taking his soul." With a razor blade, he cut his victim’s chest, removed a rib and a piece of bloody lung that he ate and cooked the rest with onions on a stove. This horrible scene was performed under the eyes of a third inmate completely scared fearing to be killed at his turn.

WHEN FILMS INSPIRE… MURDERS

In the case of Luka Rocco Magnotta, the “Canadian Psycho”, it seems he has been be inspired on some films about sadistic killers, with among them "American Psycho", "Basic Instinct" or "Seven".

Luka Rocco Magnotta had filmed the scene and posted three videos to YouTube where, just last week, anybody could watch them. The scene of the murder evokes the opening scene from the movie "Basic Instinct" (1992) with Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas. In the film, the killer and his victim, tied to the bed, as in Magnotta’s video, make love before the killer kills his companion of many ice-picks. Canadian police now wonders about his possible involvement in another murder and dismemberment of corpse in Los Angeles, at a time when Magnotta prostituted in this US city. The head, hands and feet of the victim, Hervey Medellin, were found on January 18th, 2012 on the hill where are erected the famous letters of "HOLLYWOOD".

THE DRUG OF ZOMBIES

Due to the upsurge in attacks by cannibals, the Canadian government of Ottawa plans to legislate on a street drug controversy (the MDPV), an important ingredient of the drug now known as the "bath salts". This drug is responsible for the gruesome attack in Florida, where Rudy Eugene was found naked in the street eating part of the face of a man. Medical experts believe that this drug which looks like a simple bath product and which is presented by dealers as ecstasy seems to be responsible for many cases of zombies delirium.

CANNIBALS AROUND THE WORLD MAKES HANNIBAL LECTER REAL

Hannibal Lecter may have only been a fictional character, but his persona terrified millions around the world in several movies including the Silence of the Lambs. The psychiatrist was known to eat his victims, sometimes with fava beans and a nice chianti.

His character was built off the following real-life cannibals.

… Friedrich Heinrich Karl "Fritz" Haarmann (1879- 1925):
Known as the Butcher of Hanover and the Vampire of Hanover, he murdered about 27 boys and young men between 1918 and 1924. Butcher by trade in Hanover, he cut and sold parts of the corpses of his lovers on the black market during World War I . The remains were burned or scattered around. He was denounced by a neighbor who found suspicious somes bones and pieces of meat he sold to her.

… Ed Gein (1906-1984) :
He murdered several women in Wisconsin in the 1950’s. Police who searched his house found multiple masks made of skin, heads in a paper bag, skulls on the bedposts, After his mother died, he allegedly tried to create a woman suit to pretend to be female. He would often wear the tanned skins of women he had either killed or dug up from a grave. He would be the inspiration for killers in the movies Psycho, The Silence of the Lambs, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

… Andrei Chikatilo (1936 – 1994) :
Known as The Rostov Ripper and the Butcher of Rostov, Andrei Chikatilo was responsible for dozens of murders in Russia in the 1970’s. He confessed to more than 50 killings and said he often tasted the blood of his victims and admitted to chewing on cut off sex organs of several victims.

… Robert Maudsley (1953 – age 58) :
Robert Maudsley was responsible for three murders in prison after receiving a life sentence for one murder. It was alleged he ate part of the brain of one of the prisoners he killed and the British press dubbed him “Hannibal the Cannibal.” He was deemed to be too dangerous for one prison cell and a cell was built that mirrored the cell featured in the movie “The Silence Of The Lambs” that held Hannibal Lecter.

… Tsutomu Miyazaki (1962 - 2008):
Tsutomu Miyazaki, 45, was also known as The Otaku Murderer, The Little Girl Murderer, and also well-named as Dracula. He killed four little primary school girls between 1988 and 1989. He was used to drink the blood of his victims and ate some flesh of one. He was executed on June 17, 2008.

… Nathaniel Bar-Jonah (1957 – 2008) :
Nathaniel Bar-Jonah was convicted of multiple crimes including attempted murder. He was released by a Masschusetts judge in 1991 and in 1999 he resurfaced in Montana. Authorities in Montana had evidence that Bar-Jonah had cooked a child he killed and served the meat to unsuspecting neighbors.

… Jeffrey Dahmer (1960 – 1994) :
Jeffrey Dahmer was convicted of multiple killings in Wisconsin. He’s known to have killed 17 victims and often tried to turn his victims into “zombies” by drilling holes into their heads and injecting acid into their brains. When he was captured, his apartment was filled with corpses stored in acid-filled vaults, a human head was found in his refrigerator among other findings.

… Issei Sagawa (1949 – age 62) :
Issei Sagawa, born April 26, 1949 finally satisfied his hunger for human flesh in Paris. In 1981, at the age of 32, he killed and ate Hartevelt Renee, a young Dutch girl of 24 who followed the same course in comparative literature. After raping the corpse, he cut 7 kg of flesh to satisfy his appetite and tried to disperse the pieces of body by hiding them in suitcases in a wood. "If I had a freezer, you would not find me". That’s what said Issei Sagawa when the French police came to pick him up. Condemned as insane, he lives free in Japan.

… Armin Meiwes (1961 – age 50) :
Armin Meiwes received international infamy after he placed an ad looking for a willing participant to be killed and eaten by Meiwes. He found a participant in Bernd Jurgen Brandes and the two cut off Brandes’ penis and tried to eat it. He would eventually kill Brandes and later ate up to 44 pounds of flesh. He videotaped the killing of Brandes.
