HUMANITY IS TEMPTED INTO CHAOS

In the aftermath of the deluge, humanity was tempted into chaos. The further they ventured from their ancestral home, the more depraved they grew.

Since its inception, humanity has grappled with the unsettling duality of human nature: the capacity to both create and destroy life. It is now evident that the arrival of humans on every continent has had a profound impact on other species. The effects have been devastating, as we can see every day. Over the course of evolution, we humans have developed highly destructive impulses. We possess a tribal, aggressive, and conquering instinct, driven by sexual and reproductive urges. We struggle with those who don’t belong to our tribe or family. And these impulses, despite appearances, persist beneath a cultural and technologic veneer of civilization ; and the notion of brotherhood exists only to further extend our dominance.

We want to kill other species solely for survival. Humans are apex predators: we reign supreme at the top of the food chain, limiting the opportunities of other species. We apply this carnivorous reign in the same manner to other peoples and cultures who are different, destroying them if they do not submit. It is nearly impossible for us to relinquish our dominant position. Indeed, our intelligence guarantees that unless another apex predator intervenes, we will forever remain the masters and the destroyers of this planet.

It’s nearly impossible to predict future but... yet, there is a significant risk that a combination of multiple wars, widespread diseases, new viruses and despair could ultimately lead to our extinction.
