Nov-11th, 2010 - Time for remembrance regarding the armistice of World War I ... but is now somebody recording that during the uncertainty of World War II, even the most greatest polical characters have chosen astrology as their guider and the destiny of nations?

Indeed, during WWII, England and Germany -to mention only them- had their own ministry of astrology which participated actively to strategic actions and propaganda.

After WWII, Louis de Wohl, in his autobiography talked about his action as astrologer for the british secret services. He is far beyond from the traditional imagery of James Bond. Indeed, Louis de Wohl fell into the secret services during a dinner at the Spanish embassy in London where he was invited. He was presented to Lord Halifax from the Foreign Office and revealed and commented to him Hitler’s horoscope. He was soon engaged by the British secret services which put to his disposal an apartment of function in London.

At the begining, in 1937, in the same manner as the astrologer karl Ernst Krafft who worked for the Reich, he wrote horoscopes about the the Nazis and the allied leaders. Although Winston Churchill did not believe in astrology, he sent in 1941 de Wohl to the United States with the grade of captain of the British army to try to convince the Americans that Nazis would be quickly defeated if the US could enter in war. The purpose of its presence in the States was to counter also the presence of some astrologers who spread pro-german propaganda, a kind of war between astrologers influence.

In February 1942, he was recalled to London by the MI5. At his return, he found that the secret services had tried to erase any information connecting to him: he found his apartment of Park Lane completely empty, his grade of captain of the British army was withdrew to him and he entered never more in communication with Sir Charles Hambro, the head of the executive branch of the special operations who however engaged him. In some MI5 archives revealed recently, it is reported even his possible internment or his distance which would erase definitively any trace of the relation between him and the secret services. Finally, for avoiding any possible scandal, he was left free and alive but considered as a pariah by the British army. At the end of the war, Louis de Wohl wrote an autobiographical book where he asserted having been the clearsight of the British authorities and having fight Hitler using astrology.

On the other hand, on the German side, astrology was already involved in psychological propaganda through Karl Ernst Kraff (see our previous report about Nostradamus and the WWII).

But on May 10th, 1941, at 6:00 pm, Rudolf Hess, minister of the Reich, fled towards Scotland on board of a Messerchmidt-110. It was known that Hess was impassioned for astrology and among his party’s comrades, it was not the only one.

As a consequence, Hess’s close friend and personal astrologer, Ernst Schulte Strathaus was arrested because he calculated the date and hour the most favorable for Hess’s escape. Indeed, this date and hour coincided with an exceptional conjunction of six planets in the house of Taurus and in addition with a full moon. And then, a large wave of arrests followed in Germany among astrologers, hypnotists and occult sciences amateurs.

At terrificator’s, we know that often reality superates science fiction.
