MIND, LIFE AND GREATNESS

Nov. 23rd, 2009 - "I’m still alive... why do you not hear me? Please don’t kill me, I’m still conscious."

Rom Houben, trapped in his paralysed body after a car crash, screamed in silence for 23 years to doctors unable to tell physically to them that he was awake. If his body was in a vegetative state, his brain on the contrary was completely awake of his background and what surrounds him. He heared all things but could not move and scream.

It’s a neurologist trying the technology of imaging who discovers that his brain was still working. From now on, Rom Houben wants to enjoy his life now that people know he is not dead. He said that he has been dreamed his life for 23 years.

But this case is not apart. Also twenty years ago, Carrie Coons, an 86-year-old from New York, regained consciousness after a year, took small amounts of food by mouth and engaged in conversation.

Because medecine has difficulties to detect them, the cases of recovery after a deep and long coma are reported as very rare. But yearly, there are a lot of persons who live in this state in hospitals during less or long time, the life of their physical body depending on a set of chimical and electronical connections subordinated to the wishes of the alives together with the limits of science.

The cases of persons apparently physically dead but whose mind are fully conscious of their surrounding are not new.

The physician William Barret (1844-1925) studied and related the case of Dr Wiltse in the Proceedings of the S.P.R. (Society for psychical Research). His study is generally admitted as serious and detailed.
Dr Wiltse greatly ill, recognized the sympthoms of his near death and was recovered in hospital. At least, he felt inconsciousless during 4 hours, and was considered as dead by his family. Suddenly, he felt awake, sitting on the top of the wardrobe of the bedroom. Under his feet he saw his physical body who lies unconscious on the bed, a nurse sitting up preparing an injection. Little by little, he felt irrestibly attracted by his body below and find himself awake in his bed.
As he rejoined his material envelope, he described himself as transparent, of blue color and naked.

These different cases, show that the form of life can be different and that life does not cease with body, that an human being is not only a sum of flesh and bones working in a reasonable way. What makes his greatness, the seat of human life, remains his mind.

Of little importance is how you grew or if you met difficulties in your childhood, your mind can go out all events and circumstances you lived, because is the seat of fantastic powers.

You have to be aware that there is a principle of power inside all of you. If used and directed with intelligence, you can develop your own mental faculties.

Man and woman have an inherent power which allows them to grow in the way they like. It seems there is no limit to the possibilities of this growth. There is no capacity in man which cannot exist in every man. The only obligations are: concentration, reflexion, self-availaliby and constance, emphasized by a silent surrounding.

Since the beginning of times, some men understood this principle and put it in practise. They were and remain the best magi of their times!
