ESOTERICISM VS OBJECTIVITY

Feb.18, 2012 - For esotericists, scientists (either scientists, theologians, philosophers) induce people to believe that there is a reality, an unic reality. But this reality, is only their reality or rather their realization. They have only a point of view: this one of objectivity. For them, a fact leads to an interpretation and not its opposite. Against this worldview, the esoteric wants to oppose the infinite field of freedom, the world of interpetration, the world of mind.

And for him, everything is interpretation. There is no fact, there is no thing, only events already interpreted or to interprete. A point is chosen, a fact is read. It is the interpretation that generates the fact and not the fact that rises to interpretations. A physical signal (hunger, thirst) results in a reflex for a scientist (eating, drinking). Yet another interpretation is possible: by persuading that we have just eat or drink we can stop the stomach contractions, which proves the power of mind over the matter and the hunger instead of mechanically driving the diet can cause a fast.

For esotericists, everything is open to interpretation, it means that everything is occult (hidden), that everything is to scrutinize, and that during scrutinizing one finds the true meaning and the true intent. For the esoteric, things are not only things but also symbols. The sun is a symbol among many others, it becomes the material signifier of a spiritual signifier.

If everything is interpretation, no eye can only assume the primordial or supremacy (except "God"). The interpretation process by levels, vertically. It rises from the visible to the latent. The esoteric on the contrary of the spiritual do not despise any literal sense, they integrate it, they do not exclude any significance not even the literal one. A same object allows multiple interpretations and these interpretations are compatible because they are linked by analogies, so that the most esoteric interpretation joins the more exoteric one. Going back to the spiritual sense, the Kabbalist finds the literal sense, with its images, letters, sounds, names, numbers, syntax ...

Each fact contains also an idea, a prophecy, a method, a technic, a law, a prognosis, an history... this is the other side. After the interpretation comes the divination. We guess something else. By accessing another reality, one enters into a different world... which can be an alternative to the suffered one of anguish we live.
